About the artwork

A new artwork added to the existing series which includes “Beyond the Borders” (2009) and “Beyond the Border: Village” (2015). In collaboration with locals the artist creates rope out of rice straw, and weaves a gigantic honeycomb-like dome space. Light and wind penetrates through the rope and the surrounding Japanese cedar trees. This is a bionic and architectural work connected organically to the surrounding forest.
