Lin Shuen Long

Taiwan

Born in Taichung, Taipei. Lin has been created public art and presented installations globally including Taipei and Japan such as Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (2009, 2012 and 2015, Niigata) and Setouchi Triennale (2013,2016, Kagawa). Drawing upon his experiences of living overseas for durations including study-abroad at Tokyo University of the Arts and residency in Paris as well as nostalgia for
home, Lin has developed his interests in historical
memories between nations, racial consciousness, and cultural interactions. Through his artworks and installations, he expresses intimate relations between humans to humans as well as humans to the nature beyond the defined borders of nations, classes or economic divide in the contemporary society and thus aims to remind us of memories of human history and shared emotions.
