About the artwork

This work is obviously a sculpture, as its material, the electric cord, the container, is filled with a substance, electricity. If the material body of the work, the electric cord, could be removed, we can imagine that electric animals in the same shapes as the electric cord would remain. Like other sculptures, what is visible here is only the outside, fragments of information such as light bulbs, animal shapes, and the richly colored details. But we never see the inside. The invisible electricity inside makes visible this important element of sculpture, the “invisible” idea inside.
