About the artwork

These five stone objects were placed in vacant lot beside a main road. They are of andesite from Tsunan, and are cut into sharp forms, like primitive stone tools. These works are thus rooted in the soil of the area drained by the Shinano River, where humans have lived prosperously since the jomon period.
