About the artwork

The house behind the “Shedding House” that was completed in 2006 has been empty for close to thirty years. The artist removed the pillars, walls and ceiling and thermal sprayed the entire house. It is enclosed in a metal coating. During the year it took to complete, contouring of the surrounding land and preparations for a field were also carried out. The nearby barn was fixed up as a shop, and on the second floor a film of the Hoshitoge community could be viewed. And real croquettes made with potatoes from Hoshitoge were served, much to the delight of visitors.
