About the artwork

The thoughts expressed in letters written to one’s own children and grandchildren were embroidered onto shirts. The work was the result of a series of dialogues with locals of the Kaino region who have children and grandchildren. Some of the letters exhibited along with the shirts expressed the joy felt by parents at the birth of their children. The artist, herself, was expecting during the exhibition period. Conceived from the warm standpoint of “home town” and family, each individual piece brings up memories.
