About the artwork

What people expect from a forest is a quiet, calm environment ideal for meditation. Emotions and sensations driven by those expectations attract people to the forest. In this project I used a path to “another place” to work on people’s emotions and senses and deepen the impact of the forest’s latent appeal. Visitors who entered my Irony of Emotion would be seduced by whispers emanating from th trees. The trees’ role was to arouse people’s hidden emotions. By appealing subconsciously to their auditory sense, Irony of Emotion would enhance their experience. Expanding their perceptions, it would physically reawaken concern with space and the natural environment.
