About the artwork

Ikebana places a strong focus on “a place’s way of being” itself. The artist invented an improvisational approach to the “place” and selected rope as a material capable of adhering to the environment. This is a work that creates a point of contact with the visitors and changes as people participate in it. Adding a touch of humor is the artist’s style as well.
