Charcoal Drawings of Akiyamago: Reflecting Each Artist’s Perception of Nature
“The term ‘landscapes within the heart’ refers to the essence of Chinese landscape painting. While perceptions of nature differ for each individual, I value the act of depicting the nature that comes to mind within each artist’s heart through painting” (Artist’s Comment).A new endeavor using charcoal sculptures of Akiyamago’s trees—created by the artist—as the medium. It depicts the mountains of Akiyamago, specifically the collective life sustained by the trees covering these local peaks. Viewers can draw with this charcoal, transforming the exhibition into an experience where each person can feel the nature within their own heart.
