About the artwork

In this depopulated area, many places give us the feeling that the houses were there in the past. The artist said he felt the loneliness when standing in such places. Houses are an essential part of lives for human beings. The artist chose a theme of the death and revival of houses for his work. Initially, there was a concern that the plan might be depressing for the village due to the gravestone representing death. However, as the light of lamps representing rebirth created a contrast, this work expressed the hopes that our lost memories would continue to live on as something invisible.
