Information

About the artwork

Osaka set up 18 mirrors in terraced rice paddies to create moons for each paddy in reflected moonlight. The mirrors have been precisely adjusted so that the moons will be visible from the highland overlooking the paddies. The resulting lunar images will exist for only about ten minutes at a time during ten viewings scheduled for specific days, including those with a total lunar eclipse or a full moon.
