About the artwork
Tomiyama devoted her life to addressing the issue of war damages that Japan was responsible for through her painting activities. In the 4th ETAT, the exhibition called “Embracing Asia: The Complete Works of Tomiyama Taeko 1950-2009” was held during the 4th ETAT. Although she was forced to live on the periphery of the Japanese art circle, she will eventually be recognised as one of the best Japanese painters of this period. (*Publication will be canceled in 2022)
