About the artwork

In Tsumari, sake is a necessity for family gatherings. On the other hand, in Western countries, the candle is the symbol of family gatherings. Huge candleholders made of hundreds of sake bottles gleamed on the water surface at night. Since the artist had to work in high places, the assistance of firefighters was required. The artist was surprised at the amazing helpfulness of the firefighters. “The multiculturalism displayed at this event was extraordinary.
