Reenactment of “Mountains are where it all begins,” the Day of the First Plant Gathering in the Settlement Area
“For the people of Akiyamago, the mountains were both their living space and the very source of materials” (Artist’s comment). The artist, who stays in various locations and creates works inspired by nature and human activities through craftsmanship, will use plants traditionally utilized in this area to embody “the mountain as the source of materials.”During ETAT, visitors will join in collecting and processing plants, sharing the process of creating things from the mountain. This also serves as an attempt to consider ways to apply the wisdom and techniques nurtured in this land to the present day.
