About the artwork

When the artist first came to this house, he envisioned it as a place where formal occasions such as funerals and wedding used to take place. This big, 10-tatami mat (about 17 square meters) sized Japanese-style room has been reborn as a ceremonial space. Crimson roses floating in water give life to the space and bamboo stretching from floor to ceiling spiral freely, floating in the air. At the creative workshop, which was open to the public, a green bamboo artwork was created in the center of this space and rose petals were scattered, covering the room as a form of commemoration.
