About the artwork

As you pass the torii gate, walk along the approach and climb up the stairs to enter the grounds of a shrine, your mind is freed from worldly thoughts. You will learn of invisible boundaries (kekkai) and you will feel something from the invisible “air”. The potter from Higashi-Mino in Gifu Prefecture presents ceramic pieces resembling the ordinary equipment of a shrine in a house called “Ubusuna”, named after the local guardian god.
