About the artwork

At Matsudai Joyama there is a sound artwork that utilizes the difference in high and low points on the mountain. The sound played at each of the places becomes a harmonica which spreads across the whole surrounding area. Sense of hearing + art. This artwork, which unites musical instruments with play equipment, reawakens the delicate sense of hearing that human beings actually do possess. If you listen carefully, you can hear the art resonating with the natural environment of the satoyama. At an outdoor live concert, saxophone player Hiroshi Suzuki performed Yoko Oba’s new song for the first time. A joint performance by echoes and the sound played by the artwork.
