For the thematic exhibit, stick forms of a Chinese bottle tree, pebbles from the riverbank and palm rope were used for the work and the act of “erection,” one of the elements of ikebana, was carried out repeatedly. Tree sticks were connected to the pebbles with red threads. “This act is like a habitual act, not quite comprehensible by ourselves, having to do with the memory of old-time games, using marbles, beanbags or cat’s cradle, in the back of our mind. I was able to confirm the fun of handiworks,” the artist said.
