About the artwork

The potter is known for his work involving the production of objects, but he is also a crafter of raku tea bowls, and recently has tried is hand with korai jawan, or Korean tea bowls. Tsumari clay forms the korai jawan and is used to make the glaze for the black raku bowls. The artist reveals his intent “to show the relationship between tea bowl and the way of tea, and this work is an apparatus that assists in the conceptualization.”
