About the artwork

The artist created earthen sound objects in Doichi, Tokamachi City in 2003. For this Triennial, he again created sound objects with the people of Doichi community and exhibited them in an empty house. The people were dedicated to explaining to visitors the work and how it had been made. The artist made a brick kiln in Matsudai and burned the sound objects in the field. The visitors played freely with the objects with patterns made by the residents.
