The exhibition took place in a 300-year-old house. This work, a part of the series entitled “The Dwelling Place,” incorporated the pillar and Buddhist altar of the house. The artist said, “I realized, once again, that ‘Ikebana’ is a passage between our world and the other shore.” A tower was set up outdoors using building waste from old houses. A scene from the play, “Blood is Sleeping while Standing,” by Shuji Terayama, continue to echo in the artist’s heart from the moment this work came into his mind.
