About the artwork

The natural light illuminates the wall that seems to bulge with the charcoal and paper covering it. At room center stands a grand piano. In the changing-room under the stairs on the first floor, a thirty minute movie clip showing the school at a day’s end, completes the installation. For two months the artist stayed in the area, writing a ten thousand character text while working on his project. The text is a detailed record of the artist’s observation of the classroom. The way light and moisture-laden air entered the room, and the minuscule dirt spots and scars, all contributed to recording the changes of the room.
