About the artwork

An abandoned house has been transformed into the Myokayama Photo Studio since 2006. Everyday this summer, the artist takes memorial photos of the visitors for family portraits and for funeral services (for a fee). He is also exhibiting the photos he has taken as well as a new series of photograms (pictures taken without cameras) of shadows of local plants around the community.
