About the artwork

A House for Computer Caveman is based on the hypothesis that one day in the far future we will become caveman again. In the 20th century there were plenty of prototypes of future houses. Now we live in the “future”, the 21st century. More and more we have started to realize that the new does not necessarily replace the past. The post contemporary age will be the age of anachronism. Nostalgia for a basic man survives beneath a suit of modernity. The house was made entirely by hand almost in the same way as in Africa. Three local old men built this house. They imagined the house made from many woman brearts. A bit also like the head of the Buddha, a big world made of many cheerful places. It is rewarding to know that this work allows interpretations, including those discovered after working and living beautiful moments with the people of Echigo-Tsumari.
