About the artwork

The bags are full of compost made from rice bran, chaff, and other materials acquired with the assistance of the agricultural cooperative (JA). The compost was allowed to ferment during the Triennial and the resulting fertilizer given to the neighbors’ vegetable gardens. This work addresses issues in waste disposal and organic farming.
