About the artwork

The term Ryuzu (Dragon Head) refers to a place where the source of the earth’s power is located. With the intent of creating a space where man and nature can coexist in harmony, the artist restored a traditional thatched roof house and terraced rice paddy fields that had been fallowed to construct an ecological system. Creating an environment conducive to freshwater crabs and fireflies, the artist grew organic rice and vegetables. One can stroll in the marshes and footpaths through the garden comprising the five elements: sun, water, wind, time, and earth. Also, visitors could immerse themselves in a “mud pool” consisting of a water-filled paddy field and enjoy the experience of being one with nature.
