About the artwork

The printing business run by the artist’s father. A printing press sits quietly in mid-job as if waiting the return of the owner. The artist transported the machinery used in his father’s print shop while he was still alive from Hiroshima and turned it into an art piece. During the exhibit, the sounds of the printing press in action could be heard from the print shop. The shop filled with stacks of paper evokes Tsumari snow in winter, and memories of both the artist’s father and Matsunoyama.
