About the artwork

“Workshop for Questions,” a soundscape installation composed of recorded “answers to five questions” addressed to the people of Myokayama village. With a radio the sounds can be heard in the vicinity of the elementary school. In addition to questions about life and its ways, answers to the situation found in this depopulated aging rural community were sought. “Triple Acts / Floor,” is a classroom with its floor cleaned and carefully waxed. It recalls for everyone the memory of their days in elementary school.
