Summary

A special exhibition for spring 2018

The exhibition introduces huts across Japan made of scrap materials as well as mabu, a hand-dug tunnels running throughout Tokamachi-city. Both huts and mabu are made to the scale of human. Enjoy the trace of creation by humans and be one of the observants how the new goat hut will be built.


Participating artists

Katsuhito Nakazato

Born in 1956 in Mie Prefecture. Photographer and professor at Kyoto Zokei University. He has been taking pictures of nature and urban environment across Japan from topographical perspective. He has presented number of photographic exhibitions in alternative spaces and run workshops, delivering artistic activities in community. Published photobook “Koya no shozo” in 2000. He has also presented photo exhibitions of mabu, a hand-dug tunnels in Tokamachi during ETAT2012 and 2015. Published a photobook of hand-dug tunnerl “lux” in 2016.

Seizo Tashima

Born in Osaka, Japan in 1940. Spent his childhood in Kochi prefecture. He has received many awards including Golden Apples prize at Bienále ilustrácií Bratislava in 1969 for “Chikara-Taro”. He has presented “Dorakujin and the children” in ETAT2013 and “Blue Sky Aquarium” in the former sanatorium on the Oshima Island during Setouchi Triennale 2013.

A building project of a new goat hut build under the cherry blossom in the school yard. The theme for the hut is ”barrier”. Join us build the barrier for the goat.
