E072: “My Son, My Pride” by Shu Matsui / Sample

Summary

A recreation of distinguished play “My Son, My Pride” which was first performed in 2010 and received the 55th Kishida Prize for Drama will be performed for the first time in six years at Echigo-Tsumari Kamigo Clove Theatre. Following this performance, the play will travel to perform at a theatre in France and also participate in the Festival d’Automne in Paris.
Inviting a new cast, the play aims to capture and weave into their performance the contemporary scenery and landscape of the mountains and rivers of Echigo-Tsumari.

Note

◯ If you will be visiting by car, Kamigo Clove Theatre is located at a 10-minute drive past the Tsunan Information Centre on Route 117 in the direction of Nagano.
(Please note that parking space is limited).
◯ If you will be visiting by train, arrive at Morinomiyahara station on the JR Iyama Line and walk for 20 minutes to the venue.
※ After the performance, there will be a free shuttle bus service from the venue to Echigo-Yuzawa Station (the shuttle bus will drop you off in time to catch the 21:40 bullet train departing to Tokyo).
