Matsudai The Rice Fields Bank: Rice Harvest 2026

The Rice Fields, nurtured by the agricultural culture of this snowy region, are not only places where rice is grown but also landscapes shaped by the interplay of snowmelt, the land’s topography, and human labor. As you harvest rice in the Field Museum—dotted with Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale artwork—immerse yourself fully in the agricultural culture of this snowy region through the scenery, art, lunch, and meals shared during social gatherings.

[CHINAHOUSE] SPECIAL EXHIBITION “START FROM EIGHT VOLUMES”

CHINAHOUSE, a cultural exchange center with China, was created in 2016 by renovating a vacant house. In the 10 years since the project began, 8 newsletters have been published, chronicling the project's activities. The history of the project is on display on the second floor of the building.

Special stall! Shaved ice with carrots sweetened under the snow.
Shaved ice invented by the artist and local students will be on sale. The star of the show is the original syrup made from Tsunan's speciality, snow carrots. Local residents and the artist Sato Yu will entertain you. Limited to 100 cups servings each day.
Supported by Mama no Oyatsu (is a local cake shop).
