Let’s celebrate the arrival of spring with the local mothers at Ubusuna House, which has weathered an especially harsh winter. Harvest the wild greens that have sprouted, nourished by the abundant meltwater, and enjoy them as freshly fried tempura alongside our spring-exclusive menu. Join the local mothers on a walk through the village to discover the many bounties of spring.

We’re open during Golden Week!
The REBIRTH of a thatched-roof farmhouse built in 1924 in the Echigo Nakamon style took place through the art of ceramics. The first floor features a restaurant-cum-art gallery where artworks by leading Japanese ceramic artists—including irori hearths, Furnaces, Washing stands, and Bats—are displayed, and dishes made with local ingredients are served on the artists’ own tableware. The second floor is a ceramics exhibition space comprising three tea rooms. The warm atmosphere of the ceramics and the thatched-roof house, combined with the lively smiles and chatter of the local women, has made this spot extremely popular. At night, it also serves as a lodging facility limited to one group per night.
