D320 "The Golden Playroom" (by Toyofuku Ryo) has taken a new turn

In addition to adding two new artworks to the entrance wall, we’ve also incorporated a new artwork into the shower area, further enriching the exhibition space. Even if you’ve visited before, you’re sure to discover something new. We invite you to experience the updated “Golden Playroom.”

Golden Playroom

“Golden Playroom,” created in 2015, is an artwork in which every element comprising the space—from everyday items to industrial products—has been painted gold. Viewers can actually play within the space, while qilin and phoenixes watch over them, and various beings—such as werewolves and mermaids—appear throughout the space.The work has continued to evolve in conjunction with the 2018 and 2022 Triennials, incorporating nostalgic game consoles, slot machines, Buddhist statues, furniture, Chinese figurines, neon signs, chandeliers,Gagaku masks, the Statue of Liberty, puppets from Vietnamese water theater, Greek sculptures, Daikokuten, and famous Western paintings—countless objects spanning different eras and regions have transformed the space into one completely filled from the ceiling and walls down to every corner of the room.In 2023, a fishing pond, a spinning top arena, and capsule toy machines were added, further expanding the playful elements. And in 2026, this latest iteration introduces a new shower room. It continues to evolve into a one-of-a-kind, ever-changing golden space.
