Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale Official Tour "'JIKU #013 HOKUHOKU-LINE' Course" (May 2 and 8 only)

This two-day tour starts and ends at Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The tour will visit artworks located near stations in the Echigo-Tsumari region, with a focus on artworks to be exhibited for a limited time at Misashima Station, a station located in a tunnel, which is rare in Japan. Lunch will be served at "Ubusuna House", where you will enjoy a delicious meal prepared with local ingredients. This guided bus tour is suitable for first-time visitors and solo travelers.

An 11-meter-high thatched tower has appeared in front of Shimojo Station on the JR Iiyama Line. Inside the tower, folk tools brought by local residents are suspended.

Enjoy handmade lunch by mothers at Ubusuna House
The restaurant is a 100-year-old thatched-roof old house. Local mothers serve seasonal small bowls of vegetables they grow themselves and bring to the restaurant, as well as a main dish. New on the menu this year are Tsumari pork stewed pork and fried fu under the supervision of Chef Yutaka Matsuura, who runs "manoma" in Tsuruoka. Interaction with the mothers is also a part of the fun.
Folding white paper expresses respect for the spirit-like beings that dwell in the "Ubusuna House. This is a new work developed by Tomoko Fuse, an origami artist from Niigata Prefecture.
