Born in 1954 in Tokyo, The artist set out for a journey across globe around 1971, spending a year wandering through India and Afghanistan in 1978. The artist remains dedicated to exploring side paths and taking both shortcuts and detours, fascinated by the countless sights and objects along the way. Fascinated by things that circulate and recur, the artist assembles the seen and unseen elements encountered on these journeys using his humble skills. Participated in the Setouchi Triennale (Megijima, 2019 and 2022).
