Kaname Harada

Japan

Born in 1961 in Osaka. Completed master’s degree at Osaka Kyoiku University. Harada has been presenting his works mainly in western Japan since being a university student. While the work is in the three-dimensional pot painted on wood, the highlight of the work is colours on it surface which he continues to create as “ultimate distorted painting”. Recent exhibitions presented include “VIBRATION Expressive Powers of Sculptures” (2001 Utsunomiya Museum of Art), “Tagayasu yoni -As if they were cultivated” (2003 The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama), “Tracing the Origin – Jomon and the Garden of Painting” (2013 Geijutsu-kan, Kyoto University of Art and Design) and “Nature and Art – The Adventure of Seeing Real Things” (2016 Yokosuka Museum of Art).
