Yuko Kikuchi

Japan

Born in 1986 in Chiba. Graduated from Osamu Ishiyama Lab of the Graduate School of Architecture and Architectural Engineering at Waseda University in 2011. Joined Atelier Zo in 2011 and contributed to create childcare facilities in communities across Japan. Established Atelier Penguin in 2017. In response to a guiding principle, “emotional, humourous and optimistic – something one would feel with all senses”, she design space reflecting primitive perspective on nature or rich sensibility to contemporary life. Received the second prize
of the 46th Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition in 2011 and encouragement prize of the 3rd Anbai Ii Ie Award in 2017.
