About the artwork

The artists created a circle of metal dancers, around which the local people built a derrick with logs and surrounded it with cloth to make a festive stage. They conducted a series of workshops on the theme, “Be Winds of Satoyama” for all 50 days of the Triennial. A total of 1,800 people participated in the workshops, and by the last day, the installation was three times as large as on the first day.
