About the artwork

The retrospective collections of a Japanese-style painter, Kaori Tanaka (1959-2013) at the 240-year old robust Japanese house, “Buna-no-ki gakusha”. The artist pursued the relation between space and Japanese-style painting throughout the 25-years of her career until she died at the age of . She produced works under the theme of nature such as grass and trees, rain and snow, flowing water, moon and wind. This exhibition covered from her early works such as Garden and Flow to more abstract ones like Line, □ △○ to Dust from her last years.
