About the artwork

From the perspective of daily life, one sees necessities such as “compact cars” and “farm tools storehouses” floating up in the satoyama landscape. Taking the “compact car” as an intrinsic material of this region, the artists blended three car bodies into the landscape, camouflaging them in mud, snow and greenery. During the Triennial, they served as unmanned shops for selling goods or were used as playgrounds for children and spaces for communication.
