This year, the “Matsudai Terraced Rice Fields Bank” will once again host three farming events. We are pleased to announce the details for the first event of the year: the “Rice Planting Event.” The instructors will be local farmers and staff from the “Matsudai Terraced Rice Fields Bank” conservation project. We are also planning a social gathering this year, where you can enjoy interacting with members from across the country, local residents, and players from FC Echigo-Tsumari through farming activities.
Please note that this event is open not only to Tanada Bank members but also to non-members. Spending time in the Rice Fields, working with your own hands, is a special experience unique to this place. We hope you will join us.

Additionally, we provide tents and blue tarps at each rice paddy. Please use these for luggage storage or as a resting area.
Wildlife Observation: “Moriao Frog Club”
This program is free of charge. Join a local wildlife expert to observe the creatures inhabiting the “Matsudai NOHBUTAI Field Museum Matsudai NOHBUTAI.” You’ll walk around the rice paddies and along the water’s edge, connecting with nature right at your doorstep. *Please note: Since the activity involves walking through rice paddies and along the water’s edge, please refrain from wearing sandals for safety reasons.
Hydrangea Care Program
This program is free of charge. Did you know that many hydrangeas are planted on the upper slopes of Mt. Shiroyama? We are growing these hydrangeas—which are resilient to snow and bloom beautifully for a long period of time—to help liven up the mountain. We are looking for volunteers to join us in caring for these hydrangeas so they can bloom even more beautifully. On the day of the event, we will be weeding around the hydrangeas and applying fertilizer. Since the location is a bit far, we will provide lunch near the mountaintop instead of returning to the Piloti. Please let us know if you would like to have lunch there when you sign up.
