Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2022 Closes and 9th Exhibition to be Held in 2024

2022/11/14

Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2022, held for 145 days, has finally come to a close.
It was the first time for the Corona Disaster Area to host the festival for such a long period of time, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many people who came to the festival. We would like to thank everyone who came to the festival, the local residents, Kohebi-tai and artists who worked together to create the festival, and everyone who came from afar to support us.

On the evening of the 13th, the final day of the festival, the closing ceremony was held at Matsudai Nohbutai, and despite the inclement weather, about 350 people gathered, including local residents, Kohebi-tai, artists, and those who were involved in the operation. Just before the ceremony began, children from Tokamachi Elementary School sang an art festival song. During the meeting, the beautiful sounds created by participating artist Jun Oka and students from Tsunan Junior High School and other schools echoed through the venue, each village and Kohebi-tai took the stage to enliven the occasion, and finally, a dance performance by FC Echigo-Tsumari brought the audience together and brought the Art Festival to a close with everyone smiling.

Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2022″ will end on November 13, but some facilities will be open to the public throughout the year and some works will remain on view until late November. If you were unable to visit during the festival period or missed some of the works, please take this opportunity to view them so that you do not miss them.

Winter is the best time to visit Echigo-Tsumari. We are preparing a winter program that you can enjoy along with the overwhelming snowy landscape.
