After participating in Snow Art Project in February 2008 in Nakasato in Niigata Prefecture, the group was established by some ten contemporary artists based in Niigata. Artworks which revealed the beauty and charm of snow in the snow field have been presented in Matsudai Nohbutai in Matsudai Niigata Prefecture for the last eight years. The origin of the group dates back to the GUN, group of contemporary artists in Niigata who transformed the perception of snow by “painting” snow field by Shinano River in February 1970.
