About the artwork

Musical Installation: Farm Tools Play Music
This artwork transforms locally acquired farm tools and folk implements into instruments, producing sounds that echo their original uses. In 2022, the artwork was created with students from Tsunan Secondary School, featuring a collaborative performance between saxophonist Oka and the students. In 2023, the artwork was updated and relocated to the Echigo-Tsumari Kamigo Clove Theatre. This year, a community-participation orchestra centered around Oka was formed and will perform.
