Ryosaku Miyasaka has been presenting artworks connected to the earth ever since his mentor, the world-renowned artist Allan Kaprow, asked him during his student days about the origin of his creative work, to which he answered “Farmer.” While continuing his creative activities alongside farming in his hometown, this marks his first large-scale solo exhibition at the age of 75.Alongside early artworks including the “Map Paintings” (some previously unseen) and recent “Plant Characters,” new artworks created last year during rice planting and harvesting seasons in Echigo-Tsumari will be unveiled.
