At the Echigo-Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo, we invite you to enjoy fresh vegetables, "sansai" (wild mountain plants), and locally-cultivated rice while overlooking terraced rice field landscapes. The restaurant serves a unique menu inspired by local traditional recipes passed down over generations - but with a modern twist.

Matsudai NOHBUTAI Field Museum (Collective name for multiple facilities and artworks)

The Matsudai NOHBUTAI is a base facility designed by Dutch architect group MVRDV. Approximately 40 works of art are scattered in a 2-km area of satoyama from Matsudai NOHBUTAI to Matsudai Castle at the top of the mountain, and the entire area is called the "Matsudai NOHBUTAI Field Museum.

Museum on Echigo-Tsumari, MonET special exhibition"The answer is blowin' in the wind"

In the summer of 2025, a special exhibition directed by BankART1929 will be held in the corridor of MonET. Centered around the courtyard pond, the space will be transformed into a harmonious orchestra-like environment through artworks that produce sound and others that sway gently in the wind. Workshops by participating artists are also planned.

In a world marked by conflict, pandemics, and environmental destruction—where “chaos” seems to define our times—Tashima Seizo has continued creating while questioning what role artists can play. For this special exhibition, he is joined by three trusted artists—Nakazato Eros, Fujita Yasumasa, and Ishigamori Yoshiyuki (Kumaikire)—each presenting their own vision of the world of Chaos.
