The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale is now only two months away. Spring has come much earlier than usual in Echigo-Tsumari, and we can already feel the early summer weather. The official tours during the Triennale are now on sale! We have prepared many courses for this year’s official tours.
A variety of tours are available on weekdays as well.
We have prepared 5 types of official tours throughout the Triennale period. The five courses are designed so that they do not overlap in terms of the works they stop by. Please combine several courses to enjoy the various artworks of the Festival.
Dates of operation: Days when the Triennale is held
*Temporary suspension: 9/7

Lunch will be served at Ubusuna House, an old thatched-roof house, where you will enjoy dishes carefully prepared by the mothers of the village. The departure and arrival at Tokamachi Station is another point that makes this tour different from the other two courses. This tour is also different from the other two courses in that it departs from and arrives at Tokamachi Station.
Dates: Every Friday and Sunday during the Art Festival
*Temporary suspension: 7/14, 8/9
This tour will visit the Nakasato and Tsunan areas at the southern tip of Echigo-Tsumari. The highlight of the tour is the Oakasawa village in the unexplored Akiyamago region. You will be able to feel the dynamic nature and the history rooted in the region. Those who are not comfortable driving on mountain roads can take the bus.
This is a light course that departs at 12:00 p.m. and does not include a guide. On Saturday, spend the morning at your hotel or ryokan and enjoy the tour after a thorough visit to “Matsudai NOHBUTAI”
