[NOHBUTAI Field Museum Exhibition]Kano Tetsuro “Abstract maps, Concrete territories”

Summary

Exhibition overview

This is an attempt to expand the exhibition, which ran from summer to autumn, into winter, when the natural territory of snow expands even further. In the workshop, existing works will be fenced off to protect them from the snow, and after the snowfall, parts of these “works buried in the snow” will be excavated and newly installed “works floating in the snow” will be viewed together. The artist installed this work as “a kind of ‘trap’ to draw attention to and contemplate something that is easily overlooked in everyday perspective.” The way the “territories” of plants, animals, and humans are temporarily made apparent in the overwhelming snow will be an experience that can only be seen here.
