Established by KATO Riki, WATANABE Godai and YAMAZAKI Shinichi in 2007, RIKIGOSAN is a “gentle community or cooperation” which aims to revitalise a regional community through art while each member pursues their respective artistic agenda. Since the beginning to the present, RIKIGOSAN has always presented their works under the theme called “birthplace” at Takakura village in Kawanishi area in collaboration with villagers in order to convey the charm of this place. Art festivals participated include ETAT (2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018), Setouchi Trinnale (2013), Oku-Noto Art Triennale (2017 and 2021), and Art Festival at UNMANNED station (2021).
