Operating as a cohesive artistic group while maintaining individual artistic styles, Rikigosan aims to revitalise the local community through art, creating a “loosely connected community = collaborative body.” From the group’s inception to the present, the focus has consistently been on Takakura village in Kawanishi area. Collaborating with local residents, the artists work on projects related to the theme “a place to return” conveying the beauty of this land. Engaged in projects such as the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2022), Setouchi Triennale (2013), Oku-Noto Art Triennale (Suzu-city, Ishikawa, 2017, 2021), UNMANNED Art Festival at Oigawa (Shizuoka, 2021-2024), and ART VISION (Shizuoka, 2023).
