Housed in the Echigo-Tsumari Kamigo Clove Theatre - previously the Kamigo Junior High School - the Restaurant Kamigo Clove Theatre is a "performing restaurant" where local women cook wonderful dishes for you while acting out a theatrical performance. ※ Open for a limited period. Echigo-Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo

At the Echigo-Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo, we invite you to enjoy fresh vegetables, "sansai" (wild mountain plants), and locally-cultivated rice while overlooking terraced rice field landscapes. The restaurant serves a unique menu inspired by local traditional recipes passed down over generations - but with a modern twist.

Cafe and restaurant space located within the Hachi & Seizo Tashima Museum of Picture Book Art. The chairs and tables used in the cafe are remade of those once used at this former elementary school. The cafe serves food and original desserts only using produce from the Echigo-Tsumari region.

Akashinoyu (Cafe & Shop)

Just a 10-minute walk from Tokamachi Station, this hot spring facility features a café , shop and an entrance area with playful art installations. Even if you’re not bathing, you can enjoy the entrance, café, and shop free of charge. The same building houses an art museum, and right next door is a roadside station, offering art exhibitions, dining options, and souvenir shopping.

This limited-time café is open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 Aug (Sat) to 1 Sep (Sun). Nagoya Institute of Technology students will take the initiative in creating a place where they can interact with the local community. Enjoy the events that will be held in conjunction with the café's operating period!

TSUMARI KITCHEN (only for tour in 2024)

Following the previous exhibition, Chef Yonezawa Fumio has created an original menu for TSUMARI KITCHEN.
The chef, who has frequently visited Echigo-Tsumari and is deeply involved in the culinary culture of the region, has created a course meal that can only be enjoyed by tour participants.

【2024 Close of business】Café Bricolage by edition.nord

Following on from 2018, this limited-time café will appear at the former Shimizu Elementary School. Freshly picked vegetables are incorporated into the menu and cold drinks are available. Visitors can take a break at ease.
